The recovery boiler at the Papel Aralar Cogeneration Plant is already operating

In May Aitesa commissioned the recovery boiler on a 15 MW Siemens gas turbine in the Aralar paper factory located in Guipuzcoa. This turnkey project is part of a new cogeneration plant in combined cycle of 14 MWe.
Aitesa provided a boiler of 2 bodies, with integrated bypass and with a 2MW post-combustion natural gas burner. The first body of natural circulation system and indirect monitoring generates high pressure steam of and the second body of forced circulation system produces low pressure steam. The boiler is designed to produce up to 22.8 t/h of superheated steam at 400°C and 2.2 t/h of saturated steam at 7 bar. This turnkey installation includes all auxiliaries: power pumps HP and LP, deaerator, continuous purge tank, purge cooling tank, steam silencer, field instrumentation, control and power panels.
The project implementation, including assembly and commissioning was carried out within 14 months, adjusting to the initial planning. With this project Aitesa proves once again its ability to provide turnkey boilers for cogeneration plants with industrial gas turbines up to 60 MW.
