Construction and commissioning are scheduled for 2013.
Not for the first time is AITESA supplying a recovery boiler for this same power plant. In 2005, it commissioned the one for phase I (see photo) with another in 2007 corresponding to phase II.
The boiler takes advantage of exhaust gases from a two-stroke fuel oil engine to produce saturated steam for the plant´s auxiliary equipment and superheated steam to supply a steam turbine that produces supplementary electricity. Production is as follows:
– Superheated steam: 14,800 kg/h at 276 ºC and 8 bar
– Saturated steam: 3,710 kg/h at 175ºC and 8 bar
The Baja California Sur IV Thermoelectric Unit, in which the Spanish company ABENER is a shareholder, was awarded the entire plant in this new phase.
