CONSISTS OF: Two different pressure chambers such as shell side and tube side. Two different fluids run through each chamber without mix. If there is a temperature difference between them, it is possible exchange heat without mixing the fluids.
This equipment is suitable for high and low pressures, high and low temperatures and even for corrosive and non-corrosive fluids, and their high velocities are better for heat transfer. A greater temperature difference causes a greater rate of heat transfer.
These exchangers can be used for practically any exchange between two fluids, including those with phase changes.
In general, they are composed of cylindrical tubes, inside of it there is a bundle, and the axis of the tubes which composed of this bundle is parallel to the axis of the shell.
