The Repsol Cartagena refinery has started the scheduled shutdown in the Fuel and Hydrotreating Units that will last for 50 days, will have a cost of 63 million euros and will employ up to 1500 workers of 40 auxiliary companies.
During the shutdown Aitesa will perform the replacement work of the waste heat recovery boiler of the sulfur unit. Additionally, a new heat recovery system on a process fired heater will be launched in the platforming unit so that it becomes the most efficient process fired heater in Spain.
