CEPSA´s Engineering Management in Madrid has entrusted AITESA to carry out, within a “turn-key” context, the modifications on the VH-1 Vacuum Furnace at the Gibraltar Refinery in order to adapt it to the new additional fuel, stripping gas of non-condensable.

The VH-1 furnace is a cabin type furnace, laid horizontally with two cells. In each one 12 burners are currently fed with fuel Oil and Fuel Gas.  The inclusion of the condensable stripping gas means changing the 24 burners and getting rid of fuel oil.

The installation of individual ignition burner boxes and general monitoring boxes falls under the scope of supply.  All necessary equipment will be installed for adaptation to the new CEPSA specifications in terms of the firing and interlocks of the furnaces.

The date planned for the commissioning of this installation is October 2013.
